The course  'Introduction to Business Analysis Using Spreadsheets: Basics'  introduced fundamental spreadsheet skills such as using  SUM, COUNTIF,  and  IF  functions, as well as organizing data and visualizing it through charts. The course is a 2-hour guided project course taught by Omnya Khaled, and it includes step-by-step video tutorials that enable me to learn by doing, and it concluded with a quiz to assess my understanding of the course. The course helped me understand the basics of spreadsheet software using Google Sheets and how to apply functions to perform mathematical operations, clean and manipulate data, and create visual presentations. I learned how to apply logical functions like IF, AND, OR, and aggregation functions like SUMIF and COUNTIF . I also learned how to clean data by deleting duplicates and splitting columns and most of activities were new to me, though simple but an essential skill and something to make my work easier while ...

Creating Financial Statements using Microsoft Excel

The next course I chose was  'Create a Financial Statement Using Microsoft Excel' which provided me with practical experience in preparing financial statements. The course is a 2-hour guided project taught by Paula Del Rey and was delivered through step-by-step tutorial videos, which I followed side by side, and concluded with a quiz to test my understanding. The online MS Excel is a great tool for companies to saved real time data and financial information. I started by identifying assumptions for the statement and creating a transactions page. Then we used the SUMIFS formula to summarize the monthly transactions in the profit and loss statement. I learned how to complete both the Assets and Liabilities & Owner’s Equity sections of the balance sheet and perform a final...

After completion of this course, I was able to bring clarity in what I know and enhanced my confidence of my skill sets in Excel. Using formulas to calculate with basic math function such as addition and subtractions and to perform analysis on item popularity and monthly profits was some of the activities included in the course. These were pract...

Getting Started with Microsoft Excel

Image
The first course I chose was "Getting Started with Microsoft Excel" which was of approximately 2 hours guided project course taught by Summer Scaggs. This course was a perfect foundation for understanding how to navigate and use MS Excel for simple data management. It included side-by-side tutorials and a final quiz that helped reinforce key concepts. I learned about the layout of Excel, how to use the ribbon, and some of the most important keyboard shortcuts which was somewhat like a revision as I knew some of it. The course also showed me how to format data, write basic formulas, and track information in a structured spreadsheet. The course objectives were fulfilled by creating basic formulas to analyze data, formatting cells, and designing simple spreadsheets for tracking purposes. I also became familiar with the basic view and features of MS 365 Excel. I found this course useful for building foundation to Class XI students if Excel topic was re-introduced and had to be ta...
